Rental cars, taxis, buses, and personal automobiles are the most common methods of travel in
Aruba. The majority of the roads are paved, but towards the interior of the island you will
encounter unpaved roads. With a total of about 500 miles (800 km) of road, about 180 miles (287 km) are unpaved.
The most econnomical option for your island transportation is "Arubus". The busses won't take you out on the back roads of the
island but will transport you efficiently between Oranjestad, San Nicolas, Palm Beach and most major beaches and the hotel areas.
Bus stops regularly serviced by Arubus are also located just outside the airport.
There is daily bus service all along the hotel strip. Fare is US $2.60.
There is bus service every 15 minutes from 5:45 am until 6 pm; buses then run every 40 minutes until 11:30 pm.
The central bus station in downtown Oranjestad is located across the road from the cruise terminal next to Royal Plaza.
